Ready to help your dental crown transformation
A dental crown is required when the natural tooth structure has been weakened, broken or most commonly affected by tooth decay.
In comparison, a filling is used to fill a small portion of the tooth whereas a crown is used when the tooth has extensive damage.
Dental crowns typically are treated in a few appointments bearing in mind the aftercare process.
Traditional crown restorations take several appointments, however with technology advancements the process has been sped up. The first step is to carry out a thorough clean to prepare the tooth which requires treatment.
The second step involves getting a mould or impress, there is also use of an advanced oral scanner which can speed up the process. The scan is then sent to a milling machine which carves your new crown from a small block of ceramic.
Your new crown is then attached to the tooth. The result is an imperceptible dental crown that blends with your natural teeth in a treatment time of only one to two hours.
